The ice rink of the Valmiera Olympic Center is the only closed ice rink in North Vidzeme. Valmiera sports school's hockey and figure skating groups practice and compete in the ice hall. The inhabitants of Valmiera have fallen in love with skating, and they actively attend public skating rinks, while Riga "Dinamo" holds its summer training camp here.
